Psyched to announce a two-book deal I’m signing today with Farhenheit Press for THE DESIRE CARD and PREY NO MORE, the start of a thriller series which centers around a shady underground organization which promises its elite clients, “Any wish fulfilled — for the right price”. Been working on it for 6+ years with the potential for more down the road. Glad to have found a great home in such a cool punk-rock publisher!! More to come soon..

Out of the Gutter Review

Praise for THE MENTOR (Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press) – Out JUNE 13th!
Early praise for THE MENTOR !! Out June 13th in hardcover and e-versions!
“The compelling plot is likely to carry readers with a high enough tolerance for gore to the final twist at the end.” –Booklist
“Like the Bret Easton Ellis novel it resembles, The Mentor succeeds as sharp and bitter satire—in this case, of the publishing industry and the sensationalism and barbarity that consumers crave.” —Kirkus Reviews
“A beautifully sinister novel filled with enough twists to give you whiplash. Not for the squeamish, The Mentor brilliantly explores the relationship between a psychopath and his prey.” —Jon Bassoff, author of Corrosion, a Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere nominee.
“A dark, whirling, and gripping book, The Mentor pulls you in from the very first page. Goldberg is a masterful storyteller and this tale of jealousy and ambition is one that will stay with you long after you’re done.” ―Jennifer Close, New York Times bestselling author of Girls in White Dresses and The Smart One
“A dark, mysterious and sexy page-turner―The Mentor has it all. Never before have a professor and his newly successful protégée clashed in such a twisted and macabre manner. A compulsive read –you won’t be able to put this one down.” ―Margot Berwin, author, Hothouse Flower and the Nine Plants of Desire, and Scent of Darkness
“The Mentor unfolds like an addictive voyeuristic experience. The conflict draws you in and keeps you riveted until the last page. Goldberg spins a powerful premise into a masterful literary thriller that has the feel of a breakout novel.” ―Michael Soussan, author of Backstabbing for Beginners, the film version starring Ben Kingsley and Theo James
“Another title for Lee Matthew Goldberg’s newest literary thriller, The Mentor, could be ‘Writer Beware.’ Hitchcock himself couldn’t concoct a more insidious story. Goldberg has created a riveting, funny, contemporary novel that deserves the description, page turner.” ―Vincent Zandri, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author ofThe Remains and When Shadows Come

SLOW DOWN is available for pre-order on Amazon in Kindle and paperback!
“A frenetic first novel… full of unedifying characters scrambling for the elusive, perhaps imaginary, brass ring.” —Publishers Weekly
“Lee Matthew Goldberg writes like a young Bret Easton Ellis doing a line of uncut Denis Johnson off the back of a public urinal. Memorable in the best possible way, also mostly illegal, Goldberg’s Slow Down is a mad man’s tour of Manhattan’s vices, follies, and ultimate betrayals.” —Urban Waite, author of Terror of Living and Sometimes the Wolf
“Slow Down starts fast and gets faster quick, gunning through yellow streetlights on its way to full collision with your shattered soul. Lee Matthew Goldberg takes on the American Zeitgeist in this stunning debut.” – Stephen Jay Schwartz, L.A. Times bestselling author of Boulevard and Beat
“What would happen if one of Raymond Chandler’s 1940’s femme fatales were to join forces with one of Jay McInerney’s 1980’s enfant terribles? Lee Matthew Goldberg wrings every delectable trope imaginable out of this mashup while still managing a fresh spin the age-old question of what happens when immaturity mortgages soul for glory. A writer to watch out for, which also applies to the protagonist of his novel but, I’m happy to say, for entirely different reasons.”
— David Kukoff, author of Children of the Canyon.
”Dark and hard-boiled writing that grabs you by the throat. Slow Down is one of those rare novels that’s so good you want it to go on forever!” —Nick Pengelley, author of Ryder: An Ayesha Ryder Novel

The SLOW DOWN cover is here! Get ready for the book release in January
How far would you go to make your dreams come true? For budding writer and filmmaker Noah Spaeth, being a Production Assistant in director Dominick’s Bambach’s new avant-garde film isn’t enough. Neither is watching Dominick have an affair with the lead actress, the gorgeous but troubled Nevie Wyeth. For Noah’s dream is to get both the film and Nevie in the end whatever the cost. And this obsession may soon become a reality once Dominick’s spurned wife Isadora reveals her femme fatale nature with a seductive plot to get rid of her husband for good.
Set against a New York City where a drug called Fast sweeps through the streets and tattoos of yellow circles appear on a flood of glamorous girls, Slow Down is a cross between the noir styling of James M. Cain and the dark satire of Bret Easton Ellis.
It’s a thrilling page-turner that holds a mirror up to a media-saturated society that’s constantly searching for the fastest way to get ahead, regardless of consequences.
